We have seven cats and none are afraid of it. Everything from raccoons to snakes, squirrels to opossum are frequent visitors. It keeps the raccoon out.

The sensor is designed to only activate upon entry. The door sensor needs to operate the flap in both directions. The lock is loud when it clicks shut and my cat won't come through it to get in because it scares her.

All in all, this was an easy installation that could have been super easy had the right template and straight screws been included.
And because i was installing this on a very thick door, i needed the longest screws, but one of the two long screws was bent.
It would have been so much easier to cut that shape originally instead of trying to change the square into an arch.

So i found screws in my stash that were threaded the same but they were a quarter inch shorter

Only problem is it comes in two sizes and the extra large one is the size of a regular cat door so i wouldnt get it for a very large or fat cat

They need to make the extra large quite a bit larger for them
