So, after going to the trouble of setting the range exactly like i want with the dial, when i turn it off i have to reset it again.

This works like a charm and has kept the dog off of the couch and from destroying the cushions.
Yesterday i accidentally left the leftovers out on the counter and thought for sure he would push through it and they would be gone.
We have a very big (130lb mt dog/mastiff), very stubborn dog who likes to get on the counters.

I neglected to find that there were numbers on the dial because i was standing over the machine looking down at it and of course i had hooked everything up and applied the collar to my dog

Even though i did not try higher settings given that this is operated by a 9 volt house hold battery i doubt that the electricity could ever really hurt an animal
