The top is velvety and wonderful, the bottom is more of a sheet material or linen. The best thing about this duvet cover though is how amazingly soft and comfy it is.

The pillow cases are hugeeee so i need to get bigger pillows you cant see it in the pics because i put a normal pillow inside and just folded the rest of the case
