I had already bought the new moen replacement cartridges but the plastic retaining nut inside the handles were too far corroded to the point that removing the plastic retaining nuts would require a dremel to cut or a torch to melt

If your setup is like mine you will need to get a 1234 female compression to a 3834 male compression adapter
