I think this is a design fault which should be rectified by the manufacturer and purchasers need to be forewarned.

The one fault preventing 5 stars which has been reported elsewhere is that one of two lower plastic clasps see picture securing the top inner aluminium plate broke when used for cleaning as recommended by philips

This was despite taking great care it renders the cooker unusable and the only fix is a replacement cooker which i was happy to receive

The rice cooker has other options i have started using it to make bread and my kids prefer that bread to the bakery bread

G we found that even a tbsp of extra water in some of the most expensive rice cookers can cause the rice to be a bit overcooked or if the rice is older than we thought it can be sticky etc
