This is an excellent product, well made, clear sound and lots of great useful features
That said, all the latest dect devices encrypt their communications, so it you should be safe from all but the most determined hackers.
This sound only system uses dect technology for the link (the same system used for most home cordless phones).
Price
It may be expensive but it works perfectly and gives piece of mind and reassurance.
Perhaps a little basic for this price range (no video), but the sound quality is excellent and it does everything we need of it.
It is currently listed as unavailable, so i'm not sure of the value for money, so cannot comment at this time on that.
A little overpriced for what you're getting though because the temperature monitoring is a gimmick unless you have a monitor on the baby.

It only activates when there is noise which means you don’t get a constant electric drone in the background

In fact had to turn down the sound as compared to my current alarm this is far more sensitive

The battery charge lasts overnight and there is a little green light that lets you know the monitor is connected
