Pros & Cons
Pros
These dimmer switches are brilliant because if someone else in the household turns the hardwired switch off manually the whole system goes down. Perfect for non smart lights because you don't need any scenes or specific lighting - all you need is an o... Read More
The switch itself is very sleek and modern-looking, and it fits in perfectly with my home decor. The plug works great with the hue system. The only aspect i wish it was better at is the actual button sticking to the plate stronger.
Individual * can now be reprogrammed to run alexa routines. Alexa splashed all over the place here, but it works great with google too. It works with voice or it can work with this hue switch.
Cons
Battery life continues to degrade even when removing them from all automations. This new version is just terrible and won't obey homekit anymore. I have a dozen automations and custom scenes in multiple rooms, it's not like the app is hard to use, som... Read More
Planned obsolescence. Not sustainable.
Highlights
Quality
I highly recommend these light switches for anyone with the philips hue system.
So easy to set up with the app.
The build quality is still cheap (if you want high end, you need lutron), but the buttons don't wiggle around anymore.
I know it is part of philips hue lighting product.
Price
If i was just whining about the price i’d give it 3 stars.
The main down side is its price.
At their advertised price phillips must be crazy though.
Competitiveness
I love the fact that i can control my lights from anywhere in the room, and the dimming feature is a game-changer.
I do prefer them over competing devices simply because i find this far easier to integrate into my home automation.
There's a reason those are selling at a higher price and have a higher star-rating overall.
[update: they’ve pushed an update adding homekit support!

You would think that theyre all basically the same things just different configurations

Its homekit compatible and in the hue app you can have the bottom button turn off all the lights in the roomb the smart button is not homekit compatible and you can only toggle lights

Meaning theres no way to configure the button in the hue app to specifically turn off your lights
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
Youd have to create a scene that specifically turns on all your lights and then hit the button again to turn them off

This wouldnt be a problem if it were home kit compatible like the other products listed on this exact product page but that isnt the case
