Pros & Cons
Pros
Philips hue white filament bulb is the last filament bulb you'll ever need. The bulb is modest in the sense that it doesn't appear too tech-forward. They look great in the 8-light bar fixture i bought for my office.
These were a breeze to set up with my existing hue bridge. They use zigbee, so with the echo gen 4, they don't need a hub or app or anything. Controllable through hue app and google home.
Leds are in the shape of an incandescent filament coil, and give off a soft, yellow, warm glow. The light is gorgeously warm - sometimes i mistake it out of the corner of my eye for candlelight.
Philips has the market cornered a bit, and that's reflected in the pricing. They look good, and they're well built. They have a vintage look.
Cons
It blinks and does not dim. Random full brightness. Giving the bulb a rest seems to let it recover, but it resumes flashing after being on for a few minutes.
They are beautiful but rendered useless at white light with a green tint. They emit a disturbing color of orange.
