Jon at fai. Com says the difference is huge. The current one is a 9000 model. The replacement from norelco is more expensive if they still have it.
The unit moves around like the original retaining the floating head effect. This is the third base i have had to replace and the first one to fit tight and not move. Fits well and was delivered as promised!
Cons
The last purchase was received on july 2, 2021. This new head that replaced the head of my one year old s9031, is almost not better than the original head, and it is also falling all the time.

One day while browsing amazon i came across this part, the so called bottom shaving unit replacement part.
Packaging/appearance
It comes with a black cover and the star wars version has a bronze cover.
Competitiveness
I have no financial interest in norelco or any alternative motivation.
With older shaver models norelco used to sell a complete head assembly (bottom part and cutter).
I purchased this for the star wars version -- it uses the same blades as the 9000 version razors.

I noticed the raised ridge was larger than the past 2 i have used
