My previous razor was also a philips - £100 when new, already "a lot" by my standards - and i was happy enough with it.
If you can afford and justify paying the asking price, you certainly won't be disappointed.
Maybe that's why it costs so much.

I can see that it is set between the rq1280 and similar lower-end models, making this a good addition to the range.
Philips have done the same sort of thing with their razors that ian callum manages at jaguar.
Could there be much difference between low price and expensive razors.
