Sound Direction
Customers have mixed opinions regarding the sound direction of the Philips SHP9600MB Wired Headphones with Microphone. While some appreciate the open-back design that allows them to hear sounds outside the headphones and enjoy improved immersion in games or movies, others find it less desirable due to the lack of noise cancellation. The audio quality is generally praised as clear, crisp, and well-balanced, but some users suggest using an equalizer for a more personalized sound experience.
Detachable Cable
Customers have had mixed experiences with the detachable cable of the Philips SHP9600MB headphones. While some appreciate the convenience of a replaceable cable and sturdy microphone jack, others have reported issues with the cable falling out or poor connection at the 3.5mm jack on the headset itself.
Highlights
Quality
The microphone jack is sturdy and durable, ensuring a secure connection without any audio disruptions.
It works flawlessly and provides excellent audio quality.
After you have owned these for a while, the connection where the mic plugs into the headphone body loses tension and becomes loose.
The mic comes with its own cord and the sound quality on that cord is terrible.

But the 9600s are a fantastic upgrade - more bass, sturdier, and for the same price as the old ones were.

I felt that the x2hrs were a little more flat sounding with little bass

These still have a pretty flat profile but sound bright and have a bit more punch to the bass

They still have a plasticky feel and construction similar to the x2hrs but those were an absolute tank and i have no doubt that these will be just as durable as those were
