Pros & Cons

Pros

Phiips sonicare looks sleek and has somewhat of a minimalist design. Sturdy and modern design, looks good on the counter and doesn't want to tip. I also like how the handle neatly returns into place without a mess and magnetically mounts to the main u...  Read More

Unit works well, but the water container could be a little larger. And i wish the reservoir were a tad bigger. The power cord is long enough to reach a normally located power outlet near the wash basin.

Compared to the waterpik, it just seems less clunky and better built. While it still makes some noise, it is definitely more muted than my previous water picks.

Cons

It should have lasted more than a few months. Every manufacturer just makes these devices look and feel incredibly cheap even though they're not priced that way.

Philips sonicare water pik/flosser is a piece of junk. The hose that connects the nozzle holder to the device is not very flexible and it's also pretty short.

Waterpik ion dislikes: after only five months of use it won’t hold a charge for more than three days.

The water pic wand is held magnetically to the front of the tank and it doesn’t feel securely attached.

Price

I didn’t have one, so i had to buy one (an extra $18.

Competitiveness

Since i own both, i’ll compare the two flossers:waterpik ion likes: it’s cordless.

I own both the philips 5000 and the cordless waterpik ion.

On the highest setting, i think it has a bit more power than the philips 5000.

However, unlike the waterpik, you can turn the pacer feature off on the philips 5000 if you don’t like it.
