Pros & Cons
Pros
Review is for the mx-53 set, this is a very nice set. Good for beginner and intermediate play.
This one is a definite upgrade from most of the cheapies on amazon that are sold in sets. I can vouch for this with my own personal experiences with them. All of these paddles cost $150 or more and they are all excellent but have different specs and, ... Read More
The voyager pro is an elongated pickleball paddle. The explorer pro's graphite surface offers much better control than the poppier explorer fiberglass model. The voyager is now my go to paddle.
Cons
The paddle has a lot of vibration and impact on the elbows. I come from a tennis background and know a sweet spot when i hit it, but these virtually have zero. The ball literally dies when it hits the paddle.
The grip and the plastic edging are faulty. This elongated version is not as consistent as that one.
Highlights
Quality
It sounds great and feels like a quality product.
Light weight, sleek design, and i definitely feel a difference from the beginner paddles i used previously.
I love pickle ball and when the handle of my racket bent after owning it for just over 1 year, i was devastated.
I don't believe my spin game has changed much, but that's probably due more to poor stroke mechanics on my part, than it is the racquet.
Price
I've played 5+ times with the paddles and here is what i like:- price: good price for a pair of graphite paddles and balls.
I feel that for the price, this is a really nice solid paddle that will help you improve your game.
I decided to look online for something 'better' than the ones i was renting, but couldn't justify spending $200 as a casual player.
I bought a high priced paddle later and my game really suffered.
Packaging/appearance
My paddle came very well packaged but it had a flimsy cover which should be a little larger as it is not easy to get the paddle... Read More
Came with a nice cover as well.
Competitiveness
Compared to the cheap paddles that came with a kit i bought, it's much better quality.
With its current price point, it does provide good value for a premium paddle with similar features.
