Pros & Cons
Pros
Click and the pen writes immediately. The clip is right where the point is therefore it acts as you guide. The weight of the pen makes writing so enjoyable - in comparison, the sailor pro gear slim feels like a light toy.
This is the second one i own and they are incredible. This is a joy every time i use it. Now the best.
Pilot vanishing point medium nib is super, super smooth. Well balanced, substantial and clean lines fit well with any desk decor! The nib is smooth and writes evenly.
Blue is my fav color and the fact that this one is matt adds the bada$$ factor. The gloss finish seems more durable.
Cons
The pen clip is obtrusive as one writes. I find writing with the not fully recessed clip where the forefingerguides the pen to be too intrusive.
The medium literally bleeds ink on paper and looks absolutely terrible. It scratches easily and often. It seems like a flimsily made piece of junk.
Highlights
Quality
The retractable head is just very handy and i am very happy with the whole quality if the product !
In terms of its appearance, i am very pleased.
I did find the aftermarket twist-to-fill cartridge converter to be too small (hence the routine with the eyedropper).
For context, i'm a lefty and i can easily write with this pen(see video; excuse shaky writing, it's difficult to hold phone in ... Read More
Shipping
And the shipping took about 2 days including the memorial day, super fast.
But this pen is fast becoming one of my favorites.
Packaging/appearance
The solid brass body underneath the matte paint soaks up abuse without complaint.
It wrote smoothly out of the box.
The packaging protected the actual case of the pen.
Competitiveness
Great pen it was different at first, but other then that it is better the my twsbi vac 700 in flow but not in ink compacity.
I have many jinhaos, a lamy safari, and pilot metropolitan.
There's just something nifty about a retractible fountain pen.
