Pros & Cons
Pros
This is a realistic look at pirating and not the glamorized view we have gotten from the movies. The book goes over piracy from the roman empire to modern day somalian pirates.
Good, quick overview of the history of pirates. Shame more wasn't known about the barbary pirates. The ancient world saw one of the most famous men of all time fall victim to pirate attack, this need a pirate attack.
Elizabeth garrett's book is about anne bonny and mary read. These books are great springboards for further research. This book is filled with a lot of information for being so small.
Cons
This should be labelled a pamphlet, not a book. The narrative is repetitive and superficial overall. Some famous characters are represented merely by mention of their names - hardly a deep dive.
