Pros & Cons

Update Pros and Cons

Pros

Cardboard spooled filament is hygroscopic, absorbing humidity from the air. The winding on the spool is smooth. It comes in a vacuum sealed bag with a silica gel packet.

Finish is exceptionally lustrous. It looks kind of crystal like, and sparkles. It makes my other pla feel stiff and crispy by comparison.

The print is sheer enough that you could probably see through thinner prints. I printed a skull dice tower with this. No issues at all printing.

Temperature tower shows heavy stringing from 220c down to about 205c. Adhesion is great on a glass bed using a glue stick.

This pla meta is more flexible than regular pla filament and it is not at all brittle. Extreme hardness.

Update 10/16/2022: i had some white and grey jayo pla come in recently and printed with the white at 0.

Some fine tuning will likely be necessary to achieve a high quality result.

Price

Possibly would buy again if the price was good.

First, the price is about in the ballpark of other budget brands going by weight alone.

Competitiveness

Printed a few models just fine after getting it dialed in.

65kg you are looking at roughly 16$/kg - on par with most mid-range 1kg spools.

Jayo which is a subsidiary of sunlu has several varieties of pla.
