Quality
This play food set is cute and the the quality is amazing!
They are of excellent quality with great detail.
We also bought the fruit and veggies one but the quality unfortunately is not as good as this one.
We don't really have the money to buy up a bunch of old style backstock before the quality tanks.
Packaging/appearance
They're easy for little hands to hold and the knife is easy for little ones to cut the vegies with.
However, the company doesn't seem to be saying a word about this new material on their website, on their packaging, or in their catalog.
Competitiveness
The scale matches the deluxe cookware set kidcraft cookware set we have.
I would recommend these over any other brand.
Huge hit with a 2yr old chef !

Like others have noted the shallot only has one ring when cut open and cucumber looks more like a zucchini

The color is in and through the toy and not a paint that can be chipped and eaten off

The detail is greateven inside each veggie is different where it is cut open

The velcro was getting saturated wet and kind of ruined and because the piece to piece connection of this particular veggie isnt as strong as the others it wasnt staying together so well anymore and i didnt want the damage to be permanent
