This is very well made. It gets throughly abused and keeps going strong! It's gone up and down the streets of seattle daily. Seems to be made well, because they are not gentle with it.

The hape croc is quieter and has a smoother movement than the plan toys alligator. The plan toys pull string is a bit thicker.
Cons
The alligator is just plain dangerous in my opinion. The pegs are very small parts that present a choking hazard for children.
Our toddler grandson gets very frustrated with this toy because no matter how carefully he pulls it it falls over. The toy does not work on hardwood floors, only rugs. The back wheels drag.
