This works great with a smart phone you can scan the qr code and a pciture of pet and contact info comes up

I do get emails saying that my cats tag has been scanned when testing it i think a text message might be better more immediate with location info as to where it was scanned this tag will not help someone who finds a pet without a smart phone

I have blurred out the bar code on my male cats tag in the photo but basically one side says help im lost the other side is a bar code and when scanned with a smart phone brings up a page with description you provide via a website about your cat including name vets name and number your contact info even a photo of your cat
