After much research, and overcoming my dewalt bias (most of my tools are dewalts) i went with the makita.
Purchased for my track saw guide rail with the miter attachment.
This product does not come with the edge guide even tho the first picture clearly shows it has an edge guide.
Only bad is it doesn’t come with the piece of the base to run a collet.
Price
Then i started to use that router and i didn't like the grips and the plunge wouldn't stay at depth.
Shipping
Then, amazon simply slapped a shipping label on the makita box and through it in the mail - it arrived with a nice hole kicked in the side.
Competitiveness
The plunge action is as smooth as i've seen in anything shy of festool.

The way i see it if you let this thing freely move up from a maximum depth of cut theres going to be a significant shock load on either that plastic nut or the plastic housing
