Pros

I have hundreds of old pictures that are faded or damaged. Mac program easily helped make corrections to reduce faded, yellowed or reddish old shots.

Easy to fix by re-calibrating with the white card. After the scan the software automatically straightens it out. This little gem.

The scanner is astonishingly fast. Super easy to setup, scanning photos at 300 dpi was super quick.

Cons

No instructions come with photo scanner. Photos scanned at 300 look exactly the same as those scanned at 600, even greatly enlarged. The scanner makes a terrible buzzing/grinding sound after every scan.

The software disk is worse than useless not only in that does not work, it wastes your time trying to run and locks up your computer. The software is so outdated, that it is literally non-functional. Once software is finally downloaded, software const... Read More

This scanner has far exceeded my expectations and was worth every penny.

I wanted to send them out for scanning and it's a riduculously expensive thing to do.

I went ahead and bought a new calibration sheet to see if that would help and it was $20 for one sheet!

I was a bit hesitant to get this for almost $200, but the time we saved backing up all our old pictures was well worth it.

Shipping

The scanner was delivered quickly, it was easy to set up and easy to use.

I got it in the mail this morning and have already scanned like 1/4 of my photos!

This scanner was an obvious winner, and i got same day delivery.

I messaged customer service in their chat and had a response within 30 seconds!

Packaging/appearance

And i'm whipping through the boxes in great time, and it's fun!

Broken box and does not appear to work!

I labelled the packets of prints to match the computer file so i can locate anything i see on the computer.

Soon the boxes will not take up space and all the precious photo memories will be reserved

Competitiveness

I had one little problem and any at support at plustek helped out right away via chat - all it well.

I ordered this model because it said it only took a few seconds to scan the photos and it was fairly inexpensive compared to other models.

The idea of scanning them on a flatbed scanner was distressing so i went on an amazon hunt for a better idea.
