Pros

Video is a bw 2-sided 2-ph doc. Small, speedy and efficient piece of equipment for a low budget office. Like the compact size. It is speedy too.

Scanning into pdf is so fast and easy now. I have plenty of journal articles that need to be revised and digitized. There is a tradeoff between speed and quality, and it takes some experimentation to get the best scanning solution.

The plustek ps 186 speed document scanner is an excellent scanner for the price. It can digitally scan multipage documents and double sided (duplex) documents. This scanner helps me to clean up the mess on my desk.

Found the company website and downloaded their software. Presets are easy to modify to your preference. Surface of the software is clear and helpful for someone like me- computer illiterate.

Cons

This is unacceptable! Several reboots, several remove and plug cables. Too time consuming. Nothing gets saved.

Software for mac for the plustek is difficult to navigate. Downloaded the software from their website, but had to extract files then manually install each application.

He told me that there was no way i could get one for under $500.

I thought i could do it for around $200.

It's definitely a good value for the money.
