I read at quora that its common for 512 gb drives to only have between 460 to 476 gb available space this is disappointing yet since this drive is within the industry norm i didnt subtract a star for my review due to this

The readwrite speed for the above mentioned pny is consistently more than 5x faster than the sandisk mentioned above and thats good news for the pny and bad news for the sandisk

My tests more than 20 in total for both these flash drives never achieved above about 80 of the maximum speed that either of these flash drives have advertised at amazon

My suspicion is the product manufacturers know a goldilocks style scenario with file type file size that achieved their advertised maximum speed but they didnt advertise the specification for that goldilocks scenario
