Pros & Cons
Pros
Lable shows baofeng. I change the preset channels to the ones that will work with the radios that you can get at the electronics section of any store.
I like the layout of the keypad - it is the traditional keypad. Ear piece is good and has a matching dual ptt switch. Remote-cable for microphone and earpiece.
Great low budget, entry level fm transceiver for beginner technician licensed operators. I’m a fire chief and a ems physician for a rural department that covers 2 major interstates and runs a lot of calls in the mountains and middle of nowhere! Google... Read More
Cons
The manual is written in particularly bad chinglish. Wont program via chirp. Even tried leaving the chnl 0 and 127 along with my programmed chnls. It is cumbersome to work simplex on a channel, then have to do this to switch to frequency mode to step ... Read More
Either the charger is defective or the batt is poor quality. Keep having speaker issues. Wasn't the right charger. I am stuck with replacing the battery.
Highlights
Quality
Build quality seems more sturdy as well.
I will tell others about this great deal on this product.
I cannot get over the price here being so reasonable and the quality being so good.
Of course the build quality is not as good as radios cost hundreds.
Price
I give these 5 stars because the price isn't that bad and they work great.
Shipping
I though it might be defective, but after some research online i learned that baofeng is struggling to get their hands on the c... Read More
Packaging/appearance
Seems well built, good packaging, came with belt clip, wrist lanyard and earpiece/mic for each.
Competitiveness
The uv-82 has a good stock antenna which rivals my 28inch tactical antenna.
It also arrived with a 2800-mah battery.
I have two of these radios and will certainly own more in the future, especially given the low price point.
