Pros

The tubing is actually fairly weighty, as is the wrap i purchased. Easy system for refilling it when the water bottles i keep a bunch of the bottles in the freezer and just swap them out. This is sooooo much more convenient than frozen ice packs.

The 9 qt unit looks like a small cooler you'd take on an outing. This little cooler packs a very cold punch.

Cons

Customer service with the other company is so far nonexistent. Now i have a $200 + ice machine sitting idle while using the insurance bought one which performs way better. Expected more from polar active.

Used one time immediately after surgery and what a letdown. Compression pad is too small and the thickness of the pad allows zero compression. The quick connects need improvement and the drain attachment needs to be included or eliminated.

After a little over a month, the pump quit working.

This machine has lasted for more than 2 years before the motor finally stopped working.

I gave it a 4 because for the price a bit high the hose could be longer and the velcrow amd straps are a pain in my leg.

Purchased this with the mindset it was probably cheap and wouldn't last.

Most insurances won't cover this so price point was good for out 1of pocket expense.

It was a little more expensive but not much.

Shipping

Customer service gave a rapid response, and polar is sending the other pad free—excellent service.

My machine still worked without it, so i was able to use my machine again, and randi is shipping me a new timer.

Called polar folks, within a day or so i received a new unit fedex to my home, and a prepaid fedex label to send back the damaged machine.

I received the normal universal therapy pad, and contacted the company about a large coverage shoulder pad.

Compared to a previous surgery where i used ice packs and frozen gel packs, this was amazing.

I'm comparing the polar care active ice machine to four other units i've used.

This brand was a little more expensive than the first one, but a way better design.
