5 narrow heel and ankle wide ball of foot and calf and this 8 fits perfectly with room for a sock im one of those high insteppers and arch who has trouble getting into boots but this was not an issue with these boots they can be laced to fit as loose or as snug as needed and if laced at the calf enough they will not slip down any less than a half inch
