They do however mark easily but then again this is the nature of these filters personally i take the filter off when using the camera and put it back on when not just incase i drop the camera or bang against something

Just gives me piece of mind that any dust dirtfingerprints will be on this filter not on the front lens element

Filter 1 broke when the lowepro camera bag in which the lens was being carried was dropped opening the rear door on a hired suv at keflavik airport

It could well be the uv coating slightly diffusing the light at this range so i have update my review and knocked off a star
