Highlights
Quality
I mainly shoot landscapes and am in the outdoors and backcountry often, so quality counts!
Great solution to the cameras crappy intravelometer.
I bought this as a replacement for 2 different releases i broke in the past do to very thin plastic material.
I have old remote with single button and wifi chip that allows my i phone take a photo and both are limited and useless
Price
Well - for $20, no problem others cost 2-4x as much.
The screen is a bit small, a bit hard to read at night, but for the amount i paid i can't complain about using a flashlight when its dark.
Packaging/appearance
The unit requires 2 "aa" batteries, which were provided in the package by the manufacturer, very nice touch!
Competitiveness
This is the replacement for a similar product that i bought here which failed after maybe a dozen uses.
The other brand failed due to a poor design.
Another advantage over other brands is that the display is rather dim and doesn't blind you at night.

Most other brands have a straight connector that sticks out very far and it is very easy to break it when you shove the camera in your camera bag without disconnecting first

As a result you pull all of the leads out of the connector and the connector shell remains stuck in the camera jack
