Pros
Do another coat, filling in the sparse areas and then go over everything, dabbing with the tip to blend it all together. My only complaint is that it dries to a beige colour and must be painted white afterwards.

I bought bunch of cheap 50 cent brushes and gently dab or paint on the first layer with the flat side of the brush.
Competitiveness
Just did a number of large-ish patches on my ceiling (each at least 12”x12”) and i got pretty good results, but it’s all in your technique.
