Pros

As it turns out she gets the reward for best gift this year! Have used it quite a few times. It is awesome.

This is the first i’ve ever made dovetail joints. The portercable is the basic set up. If your unfamiliar with dovetail * follow the directions to the letter. This kit has all the templates, router bits, and router collars to use with the *.

Take the instructions and go sit in your comfy chair and read them. It's a little confusing, but once you youtube it it eventually makes more and more sense. The learning curve isn't too difficult.

Sturdy, well built, and well engineered with flexible feature set. Some comments have concerns about the height adjusters being plastic.

This is a very nicely made fixture. Makes a lot of sawdust so use it outside used it to make dove tails on a * side sea chest, came out great.

Cons

The router depth gauge is a joke, it soft plastic and deflects easily. The needed size straight bits are 1/4 and 1/2. Porter cable should be embarrassed to have their name stamped on such a cheaply made tool.

You can buy others for 2x the cost of this model but i cant see 2x the value.

Cant find any deficits at this price point.

Start with using inexpensive wood for practice.
