Pros & Cons
Pros
Sandpaper on a roll with an adhesive backing is a super idea. It is so quick and easy to cut off a piece of sandpaper from the roll, stick it on the sander's pad, and then start sanding. The grit on this sandpaper lasts longer than anything i've tried... Read More
Don’t listen to reviews that whine about the powerful stickiness. Mineral spirits clean up the remaining paper and adhesive fairly quickly. My only complaint is that it can be really sticky.
Appears to adhere well to metal plate of my craftsman vibrating sand which is an oldie. Just enough adhesion to not move around while sanding but easy to remove. These use * to hold the sandpaper in place.
Cons
Porter cable adhesive paper isn't compatible with a porter cable sanding pad. The sandpaper role is great as long as you never have to remove it. It is extremely hard and time-consuming to remove used sheets from the pad of the sander.
The glue’s adhesion is so high that i had to do the following to remove it. Throwing it in trash.
Highlights
Quality
This is the most durable sandpaper i have ever used in my life.
I like the adhesive strength, i used it after cutting the shape of a triangle sander i have, very good longevity.
I keep a heat gun handy around the shop, and just hit the sandpaper for about 5-10 seconds and it is easily removed.
We have been buying this product for years and it never fails us no matter what we are sanding!
Price
Product adheres to sander price is a awesome value.
$13 for the abrasive material to flatten three planes (especially the number 7, which is almost 2' long) is a great deal.
I used it to flatten shoe on an inexpensive plane.
There was sticker shock at the price of this stuff originally, but it lasts so much longer than anything else i have tried, so ... Read More
Packaging/appearance
So glad i purchased this - makes it easier to 'cut when needed', and storing it a package that is different from sheets of sand... Read More
Tip: if the adhesive is too much for you, lay a layer of masking tape or packing tape first, then put the sandpaper on that.
Competitiveness
To prevent this, i clip in another brand and cut a porter cable piece to stick to it.
I go through more of this than expensive pre cut brands, but save on being able to cut to my 3 different size needs.
This sandpaper holds up better than any other sandpaper i've tried.
