Pros & Cons
Pros
Hot dog compressor works extremely well. Porter cable seems to be a good brand for robust tools with none of the bells and whistles that eventually break on fancier models. Porter cable for me is the best brand.
Easy to adjust the nail head-height. Simple to insert and remove nails. Inserting the nails is very simple, but getting them to slide forward so you can draw the guide back is a little clunky.
Good job pc. Arrived as promised. Was packaged well, so as not to damage the nail gun.
Cons
After less than a year, and on my third use, the seal was broken. The rebuild kit cost almost as much as the gun. Looking for a newer more reliable brand.
The nails are difficult to load into the hopper. The nails frequently get jammed in the hammering mechanism. Using porter-cable 1 inch brads, it jams every 5 nails or so.
Highlights
Quality
Works as intended the 2-1/2" length was of particular need for my trim application the depth adjustment also was flawless
Just the over all handling of it, weight, power, control, on and on
It consistently shoots straight and sinks the nails at a predictable depth into a wide variety of materials.
I bought this tool to replace a 25 year old identical product that failed (i am told) due to lack of proper lubrication.
Price
My 1st nailer was from a discount chain and i spent more time unjamming it then using it, i tossed it.
And i found out it would probably cost more to repair it, than to buy a new one, and, i did just that.
Shipping
I received this nailer in 3 days.
4 days before they said it would get to me.
With the overnight delivery, there was very little lost time.
Packaging/appearance
Was packaged well, so as not to damage the nail gun.
Competitiveness
I read all the reviews and some forums and most gave it a very good review, when i compared it to the competition for functiona... Read More
This is another great nail gun from porter-cable.
I have other porter cable tools and find all of them to perform much better than their low price would suggest.
I have several other p-c nailers that require a "drop of oil" each time it's used.
