I have an older bike without the welded on nuts or threaded pipes whatever you call them and todays racks dont work like they used to those were sturdy made of steel a little heavier but stronger much stronger

The new aluminium racks will hold no more than 25 lbs and if you try to get a good tight nut or bolt you risk easily stripping the aluminium screws or rack itself plus they are all one piece not hinged on the struts and cant be folded flat so i dont like the racks and i dont agree with how any of the newer stuff is made but as is these worked for me well so it is what it is
