Pros & Cons
Pros
It maneuvers fine and truly is easier to start. Its easy to start, fires up with 4-5 pulls even in the cold. Starts well idles well.
The poulan 4218 is sufficient for pretty much any job you may encounter around the house or property. Make certain to use the right fuel mixture of oil and gas and follow the starting instructions to the letter. Put in an ounce or so of berryman produ... Read More
Poulan pro pr4218 comes with a scrench, {screwdriver ~ wrench combo}. And a built-in holder. I say this as someone who can live a significant amount of weight, weighs 200lbs, and who has athletic ability.
Cons
The plastic chain tensioner makes this unit unusable. The gear that drives the chain permanently freezes up. The not good, not easy to start, flimsy choke lever broke after 2 uses.
Very disapointed in poulan and amazon for situation" bought this a year ago and had problems from day one. Ended up taking it to a authorized poulans dealer. Amazon insist that since this item is categorized as non-returnable, it cannot be returned.
My guess is that the carburetor is calibrated for sea level. Save your money and your frustration level.
This chainsaw is junk. Saw is under powered for the 18 blade and gets bogged down easily.

It is good quality, it runs great and cuts excellent.

Price
He really likes this new one and it was a great price too.
It performs well and for that low price also came with a case and extra chain!
If i see it advertised again for $159.
I ordered 3 orange ones off of e b ay for $10.
Competitiveness
Cheap and awesome /starts better than the more expensive brands!
Compared to a husqvarna 235 it starts a lot easier.
The oil and gas tank openings are bigger/better on the poulan as well.
Has about the same power as the smaller 35cc engine as the 235.
