The only negative i find is that the connection flanges on each side are an inch or so too short

But when suction is applied the gate seals flat against the intake and there is no air leakage at all

In the attached video you can see the flexible hose constrict as soon as the gate is closed suggesting the seal of the gate and the relaxing of the hose when the gate is opened

The bad wont fit all applications with its long gate flap
