Installed these gates with the sliding door going side to side, rather then up and down.
Competitiveness
However, my preference is for the rockler brand which are $11 but are sturdier and also have more ways to attach them to walls and beams.

Be careful how you orient this on installation

They dont clog if installed properly

Secondly to fix them just put a flat blade screwdriver in the slot and pull the slider out then you can just tap it to get the dust out or use compressed air

On the down side the slides will fill with sawdust over time and will not shut fully requiring you to un hook it and clean the slid guide out
