Pros

The instructions on the back of the package are good, and from there, it’s pretty intuitive. I am an extreme novice when it comes to this stuff. This is the tool she used and my results were as good as i wanted them to be because i am extremely fussy....  Read More

This dowel * is simple and a must have for anyone starting out with wood working. Works well for drilling dowel holes in to the side of a board. Put a clamp on it, drill, dowel.

The construction is of good quality. It makes wood working projects a breeze. Id buy it again though in a heartbeat. Was making a murphy bed cabinet for a rockler kit.

Cons

The concept is sound, but the * has a plexiglass surface. Not even worth the money as a beginner * for infrequent use. Also sold by rocker under their own name, but same cheap piece of trash. Will be returning.

Quality

This is a high quality jig being made of steel.

Best, and most efficient way to drill dowel holes.

Be warned, you need 3 good clamps to made this work well, otherwise it will misalign often

Ended up using the milescraft jig on the faces since this is very awkward to clamp on a larger board.

Price

For a shop with limited space and not wanting to spend big money this is a great option.

I was going to make one of these myself, but after seeing the price of this it wasn't worth my time making one.

This is advertised as a cobalt drill bit which should be a real hard steel and it cost $18 with a stop collar and the jig.

The drill bit alone from dowelmax is $17.

Shipping

50 plus shipping and that drill bit is hss.

Competitiveness

First off, i have a dowelmax that is far superior to this jig.

The allen wrench for the collar is different from the kreg size, so i marked it.

I was surprised that one of the cheapest and simplest dowel jigs on amazon would work.
