Pros & Cons
Pros
Used bolts to anchor these wheels to the legs for added strength. Have a set on my workbench and my flip-cart jointer/planer, they work swimmingly. I’m ordering more for my other benches.
These things are terrific! Exactly as advertised. Thanks for a genius product.
Less expensive than others, though just as durable and well made. No regrets with this purchase. Now i just hope they have longevity.
Cons
There were no threads on the bolt. Save yourself the time and buy some lag bolts, washers and nuts to avoid the stress on the useless screws. The included wood screws are very cheap, soft metal and will strip if used on hard wood. Buy some decent ones... Read More
Great idea, horrible execution. Biggest drawback is the nearly flat plate that the caster mounts on.
The pedal holds the caster in place, nothing more. They pop out when you roll them on an uneven surface, such as the paving stones in our backyard. I have a top overhang of 16 on one end and it is awkward to lift and reach the lever with a foot.
Highlights
Quality
The wheels are sturdy and glide smoothly even when carrying significant weight, the lever works so well even my 8 year old can operate it.
Works as advertised and easy to install
Because these are workbench casters, they are completely retracted above the floor when not in use, allowing all of the weight ... Read More
This is my mistake and says nothing about the quality of the product.
Price
Worth the extra money from the cheaper ones.
These casters are worth every penny, and i’m ordering more for my other benches.
In this case you get what you pay for.
Packaging/appearance
These workbench casters came in a nice, sturdy packaging and were a breeze to install.
Competitiveness
I would buy again, but i might try the rockler wheels just to compare.
I have a lot of different ones over the years that are great ($$$$$) and ones that ok ($$) but these you just can’t beat.
It just looks like a cheap copy of the powertec.
Quality of material is as good or better than product from rockler, at a much lower price.
