I keep a scoop on the top part and the twisting motion gives a good amount too vacuum seal which keeps the food fresher for longer.
I purchased this to store loose tea and it just plain works.
Either stick it in the cupboard or cover the container with something opaque like paint or foil tape(duct tape is usually translucent).

But will still do a fair job for the price.
I'm happy with my purchase at less than $15.

I knew from the start that its clear plastic so you need to keep the container out of the light

One thing i noticed is that the lid can be taken apart for cleaning

From here i noticed that theres actually two one way valves in both directions that create the vacuum effect

Im not sure if it makes a huge differences but i went ahead and made it so both of the large ends were on inside

If youre not cheap like me you might as well spend extra on the airscape which looks better all around for coffee storage but costs more than double
