Pros & Cons
Pros
This simple hand-held mandoline is perfect for slicing so many things. Slicer is very sharp and cuts evenly. Almost daily use when prepping my salad or adding onion to my tuna salad.
I use a whetstone to keep the edge sharp but trust me when i tell you that it is extremely sharp when you receive it. Never use bare hands, this thing is so so sharp. The blade is sharp, the design is simple, and the price is spot-on.
Cons
The mandolin is not sharp enough for slicing tomatoes. The safety guard that comes with this mandoline isn't all that useful, either. It's more dull than the old mandoline i was looking to replace.
The selectable slice size function is nice in theory, but the plastic bridge that is lowered and raised when you adjust a slice is flimsy and bendable. This one is meh. It's permanently ruined.
Highlights
Quality
The quality is excellent and does the job its designed for in the kitchen with veggies.
I’m very impressed with the results that i got when slicing honey crisps apples to dehydrate for the rabbits.
Obviously, not the product for my husband who lost the tip of his index finger on his 3rd pass while slicing potatoes.
I will not be returning the item after all, sorry for the misunderstanding.
Price
The price was fair and of course very quick delivery.
The blade is sharp, the design is simple, and the price is spot-on.
Packaging/appearance
And yes, i threw away the potatoes and used bleach to clean!
Competitiveness
I have tried many different brands that cost more but none have worked as well.

My husband has a lifetime ban

Just be careful because as im sure is true with any mandoline you cant use the plastic pusher right from the start you have to hold the potatocarrotwhatever in your hand until youre down to about 1

If you try to use the pusher from the beginning the potato will wobble and your slices will break off before you push all the way though

I anticipated this knew the blade was sharp read the warnings etc
