Pros & Cons
Pros
The pan for this unit is deep, so when you're sauteing, grease splatter on the countertop is minimal.
It takes a small fraction of the time it would take with regular cookware. Carrots come out soft and flavorful, and rice comes out just right. It's perfect for shredded chicken, and very good for eating straight.
Highlights
Quality
There are also a lot of recipes online for the instapot that work in this.
I've made two dishes so far with the presto so far.
Obviously, the base unit and the lid can’t be immersed or you’ll destroy the product.
A more complicated chicken dish i got from an instant pot cookbook was rich and flavorful, with the chicken moist and tender.
Price
The price is great, and you get a lot more value from the system than what you paid!
Packaging/appearance
I use a splash guard (made by farberware) to virtually eliminate any grease splatter getting onto the countertop.
Competitiveness
There are a few things that kept it from being a 5-star experience.
All in all though, it's a great cooker for the price.
It usually takes me 45 minutes or more to cook a tri-tip roast in the oven.
With practice it'll get better, but it would be nice to not have to deal with it.
