Pros & Cons
Pros
My favorite way to use this is to sprinkle it on soft pretzels. Def recommend to give it a go!
It's not overly salty as most people would think. Expand your repertoire and culinary skills, as well as your overall health and tastes with this marvelous addition to your kitchen.
Cons
It's so strong that it completely overtakes the last snd smell of all foods. I can overlook that however, maybe all sulfur salt is like that. Very disappointed that the sulfur smell is not mentioned in the description by the seller.
After researching black salt it turns out it's filled with toxic levels of floride. The hawaiian black salts are much better. Not what i was expecting - the flavor of pink himalayan salt with a black color.
Rotten egg tast turns salads, eggs andfoods that aren't cooked into rotten egg tast. Like rotten sulfer, rotten eggs, * fart. I understand now that vegans like it for flavoring egg substitutes.
Highlights
Quality
The higher the mineral content the more robust and complex the flavor as well as better for your health.
In a grinder, that is a non-issue, and those bits provide valuable minerals that enhance the nutrition of the salt.
This salt is mined and not artificially processed.
The grain is very coarse — small rocklike chunks.
Packaging/appearance
Upon opening container i was not overwhelmed by any foul smell, it was neutral.
Competitiveness
I've tried several brands of kala namak, (black salt), and this one is far superior.
This salt is less salty than regular table salt, and also less salty than pink salt.
Himalayan salts have a higher percentage of minerals than any salt on earth.
