Pros & Cons
Pros
Repair seems simple using a paper clip, some pliers (both to remove the hinge pin), and a screwdriver. Red light starts off on the lowest setting press the button to bring up the super bright red light. This unit privileges the red light as the first ... Read More
The light itself is easy to swivel up and down on your head, and it stays put. I swap out the batteries every so often, but i’ve never had the batteries die while in use. The battery life is pretty good and you do get a flicker warning well before bat... Read More
Cons
Shame on this company for peddling this *. Batteries dead. All 4 of them are unusable now. No it’s not.
The build quality is very cheep. Despite this having a waterproof rating of level 1, there are no silicone seals whatsoever.
The battery compartment door is very fragile. The plastic latch that holds in the battery is very flimsy and breaks very easily. The headlamps work great except that the snap that keeps the battery compartment closed is prone to break.
Sometimes the red light flickers, even with fresh batteries. The other issue all of my headlamps faced is shorting out - if the batteries are not seated properly, you have to hit the light like a 1980's flashlight to get it to work again.

You get all the stars for that, but it’s also high quality and i couldn’t recommend it enough.
Price
This headlamp is a good balance between quality and price.
Shipping
Pull too fast and hard and you break the tab.
Packaging/appearance
I use this everywhere, in the field in the barracks.
I just got lucky that i decided not to damage the part the latch will grab onto!
Competitiveness
Princeton tec lights are made in the usa.
Still, almost no competing lights are as perfect for preserving night vision.

They could still let it default to dim first but if you need brightness in red a stronger led would do better than the trio in use on this model
