I know from reviews posted by professionals that the prismacolor are deemed to have more pigment and to be better at blending and layering.
I still love the brand but am disappointed.
I can't believe i am saying this, but the prismacolor pencil sharpener is a game changer.
Competitiveness
I use prismacolor pencils all the time and i have zero issues with it.
As far as how they color, im pleased that they color and blend pretty well (as prismacolor pencils should).

I ordered a large set of a cheaper pencil to fill in for other colors and was disappointed that their softness didnt match up

I find the inexpensive kalour set i purchased to be just as soft easy to use and colorful

But to me the differences are miniscule and not worth the high cost difference

Additionally prismacolor break often and suffer from waxbloom so although they have a decent lightfastness rating they do not seem suitable for professional work any more than the kalour is

That being said i am a beginner and amateur with colored pencils with more experience i may change my opinion
