There are magnets that hold the cover closed to protect the screen however one thing i dont like is that the front flap is held in place by a metal tab that secures to magnets on the back flap which you can almost see in the stock photo however in the picture it appears black in color but its actually shiny metal

Im a little worried that the metal tab may scratch the screen over time as theres a little bit of give to the front lap in the closed position this is the main reason i knocked off a star on my rating

I wish they would have put magnets or a metal strip inside the front flap material like other products not on the outside to protect the screen surface

The metal tab turned out to be an nonissue theres enough of a lip on the side opposite the hinge that it doesnt appear to rub on the screen

I recommend purchase of a screen protector cheap insurance for your investment anyway if the tablet will be getting a lot of use
