Excellent device for the price, cooks evenly, releases well with cooking spray, stores well.
I haven't found that the lack of a flipping mechanism has any effect on the quality of the waffles it produces.
I really like the iron and hope the quality control issues get sorted out in case i have to replace mine.

Like many irons the bottom of the waffle iron does get a bit hotter than the top so the bottom of the waffles are slightly darker than the top
