Pros & Cons
Pros
The only downside to these mics is that the wires can get soldered on backwards at the factory so if you buy two, they could be out of phase. The pyle mic was better suited for those frequencies and provided a very nice sound for my project. Great mic... Read More
Are these as good as shure 57s? Bought 2 as a cheaper sm57 alternative. Sounds brighter than an sm57 but very similar still. It sounds good enough that i'd happily sub one for a "real" 57 and not worry it will get dropped or spilled on.
Sure the finish is cheap, but the casing itself feels solid. Bought 2 more right after. Seem to be pretty sturdy too.
Crystal clear highs, beautiful clarity, no boomy-ness. It does a shockingly great job for the price.
Cons
This mic is very fragile due to being of poor quality. The sound quality is fair but i don't think it compairs to the shure. When i used them with my mixer, there was too much hissing and cracking.
Soldering and wires are terrible, plus i had the bad luck of receiving one that had solder from one of the wires in contact with the nut the holds the capsule together. The connector on the bottom going to the xlr cable is loose and shakes around.
Highlights
Quality
Excellent durability and sound quality for miking an amplifier or for your vocals in the studio
All you need is a good transformer, gasket (don’t let the old timers bull**** you, electrical tape is perfectly fine), and you’... Read More
It's most definitely not a shure sm57 in terms of build quality or sound.
Contacts are soldered just fine, the wire is just hair-thin and prone to failure.
Price
For the money, a great option for having spare mics for recording or performing purposes.
It's an incredible value for the price.
The shures are around $100 each new.
If that's too much for you spend the $100 for the shure!
Shipping
Delivery was quick and packaging was great!
Packaging/appearance
I paid a goooood price and it truly came new in box with a good quality cable.
*** does not come with a mic stand clip* which is expected.
Competitiveness
I've compared these to industry standard versions which cost much more, and these work terrific.
Well i have the mxl 990 wich is like $100, i compared this pyle that costs only $17 (at the moment of purchase) with the mxl an... Read More
Miced my drum kit with these, compared them to the real shure sm57 and cannot hear any difference at all for 0ne fifth the price.
I tried an sm58, a beta 58, an ev 767, an ev 967, an even a sweet sampson mic that kicks butt.
