In fact i found that if you push the wire in to the microphone a little then it works better

This is a wonderful mic with one one caution the shielding is very poor

Mic works really well in windy conditions but when i tried to use it to film trains which admittedly are very very loud the mic would cut out once the noise got above a certain level
