Pros

The prohoe is a fantastic tool for clearing brush. I hate buying tools, but when i do i want to buy tools that will outlast me by a lifetime. Strip that god-awful varnish off the handle and use some linseed oil on it.

It’s as heavy as a foresters grub * or fire-line mattock. Feels sturdy, does the job comfortably.

You will not be disappointed. I have to be sure it is back in my truck after every project because so many people want to use it. Like some others, i wish the handle were longer, but still robust.

Edges are sharp and easy to sharpen. Blade comes sharpened. Only complaint is that i had to de-burr the blade with a file as soon as it came out of the box.

This thing just digs in and opened up the trench so much quicker. Very fast for clearing roots, loosening up holes, etc.

Cons

I hate the frigging things, and they are an environmental disaster. Not real sharp. Welds probably durable, but sloppy.

The tool has a good balance and i think the all around weld in the middle of the blade makes it extremely durable.

The blade is sharp enough to split a log and sturdy enough to last a lifetime.

The working end is thick and heavy and both the edges are sharp!

I had an idea this would be amazing, and it cut right through untilled unworked soil as if it had been worked, with little energy used.

I'm a firefighter with the forestry department, and this is one bad a*$ tool.

The hoe is available at half the price from other websites, but was on back order so i order from this place.
