I hope that over some weeks, the odors will subside. The only problem that i have with these is that they don't seem to last long. Bought the 5e. But, they fit ok overall and i'm optimistic i can break them in.

Not that i am a footwear aficionado but it's easy to tell these are a sturdy, well built set of hikers. I prefer my hiking boots to be a little more snug to keep my feet secure. The outer soles are stiff and supportive.

Ridge walker black suede, men's us8 x-wide/3e insole. Ball width 9. Cm, heel width 6cm. No problems with'slippage' from too loose/wide. But most men's boots run wide. I read many reviews that said these boots run narrow.

The tongue is too narrow so it will not stay in the shoe when tying. The speed eyelets are too shallow to hold the laces while tying. It is the eyelet right at the turn up the ankle of the boot, so skipping it leaves them too loose-fitting.

They're cheapie tennis shoes mind you. Not waterproof and not 5e width. The toe box is too tapered compared to other propet boots, making this model tighter in the toe region.

The left boot has a squeak with every step. They narrow out so much at the tip they were squeezing my toes. The area where my big toe lives presses down on my toe and it hurts.
